Yesterday was Carson's first day of school...at a new school. We really liked the charter school, but his teacher was going through some family problems and had only been in class about 7 times during the first 4 weeks. The school was trying to get a permanent substitute, but they hadn't had much luck. There was no consistency or communication going on...so we felt like it was time to get into a normal classroom with a stable teacher. So yesterday was his first day, again. He seemed to really like his new teacher and class. I asked him which school he liked better and he said, "I like my new school a tiny bit better than my old one." So I guess that's good...he's at least had positive experiences at both. His best friend Collin made the change with him to the new school...so he does have a buddy to play with at recess, which is nice while he gets adjusted.
Also...Treyson had his first encounter with fire ants yesterday! He lifted up a rock and found an ant mound. It took only a spit second for me to realize what had captured his attention...but I was still too late! His little hand was already covered in ants. Quick as I could, I brushed them off...but he'd been bitten several times all over his little fingers! He kept saying, "Ou...Ou...Ouch!" Poor little guy! Both Nick and I have been stung by fire ants...and they really hurt! We felt so bad for him! As soon as Nick got home...he took care of that ant mound. His method for destroying it involved gasoline, matches, and many concerned looks from neighbors driving/walking by. Good riddance!

(Look closely for the white bumps on his fingers and in between his fingers)

I'm so sorry about his little cute fingers! Was in on the same hand as the burn? Poor little kid. Which prophet was it that always was getting hurt? Looks like Treyson is on his way to greatness!
I hope Carson's new school goes well. It's so not fun to have to switch. I have the perfect school/neighbor hood in my head. It involves all the wonderful people and kids we met in school. Do you think there is a town somewhere that needs like a million dentists and doctors so we can all live on the same street and our kids can go to school together? I would kill to have Carson and Andrew go to the same school!
Cute blog! I love the pictures of the boys!! I can't believe how big Nixan is!! They all look so grown up. I can't wait to see them...hopefully we can see you guys sometime soon. We sure miss ya!!
That is such a cute pictures of the boys. I just might need to copy it! I'm so glad you guys made the change with us. It really eased the whole thing... for me anyway. I think the boys were less worried about it than we were.
Poor Treyson. I feel his pain!
ditto to everything jill said...that is my perfect school too..wouldnt' that be so great..and way to easy for all of us. sad treyson...that hurts bad.
Ohhh....poor little Treyson. I'm glad Nick torched them...good luck with those ants! I actually still have little scars on my ankels from getting bit so many times in Houston...crazy!! I'm glad you did the school transfer...tough decision but it's always better to have a stable teacher. I hope it's going good. Now, you'll have to make sure to update us!!!
I seriously LOVE your blog!!! The pictures of the boys are priceless. You are so creative and fun!! We can't wait to get together with you (less than a year now!)
Ouch! Poor guy! Looks like you guys have been busy and what a tough choice to switch schools. Glad he had a friend to make the switch with!
