Nixan turned
5 this week! He was so excited and had been counting down the days since Christmas. Oh, and on Christmas day, after all the early morning excitement was coming to an end,
Nixan cheerfully said, "
Umm....Santa forgot my long-gun....Oh well...I'll just get it for my birthday!" (long-gun: a N
erf rifle-like gun with a scope on it). He could hardly wait. But finally the day arrived, and
true-to-his-word,
Nixan used his birthday money from his grandparents to buy that "long-gun." He LOVES it! But when you ask him the best thing about turning five, he likely won't mention the gun. Rather, he'll tell you how
AWESOME it is that the state of Texas no longer requires him to ride in a child's booster seat in the car...now he is a
BIG kid that can ride in a normal seat belt (Although Mom is still trying to convince him that the booster is nice...cause you can see better out of the windows, right? Not to mention the fact that
Nixan is kinda on the small side and sitting in a booster would really be better should something happen! Wish me luck on this argument...I'm losing badly).
As tradition, we asked
Nixan how he would like to celebrate. Not surprising, he picked Chuck-e-Cheese (what we did last year too!). It was so fun for the whole family.

Fierce Competitors! Kinda...
Nixan lucked out this year because he got to celebrate with two cakes. One while Grandpa and Grandma
Ordyna were here a couple weeks ago...

...And one on his real birthday. Like Carson's last b-day cake,
Nixan wanted his to be a "circle" with chocolate frosting and a picture of a Navy Jet on it. So there it is:

This is his new big-kid bike. Once it's assembled, I'll post a picture of him riding it. He was so excited to see Lightening McQueen on it!

Oh...I realized just now that there are no pictures of that famous "long-gun." I'll get on that!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe he's five! Where did time go? What a cutie he is! I can't wait too see him again! And, speaking of birthdays...I've missed your birthday again. I get so mixed up near the holidays! Hope you had a wonderful day!
happy birthday nixan. from hayden.
Happy Birthday Nixan!!! I love that he knew exactly what he wanted. He has the most precious smile!! I am also so impressed with the cakes you do! That is so cool. I think I want to be a round chocolate cake too :)
You pictures that you took this year are definitely amazing!! I love the header you have of the boys. Your blog looks so beautiful!!!
I can't believe he's seriously five...that just sounds way older than 4 to me......I love the picture of your fam that is on the side and the one if the boys at the top is ADORABLE!!!
How exciting! Look at his face as he opens his presents! How fun! Happy Birthday Kiddo!
I was skeptical about Chuck E Cheese too but Preston went there for a birthday party last year and really liked it and I thought the prices for games were reasonable so we have gone back since then. It definitely beat the game room at Great Wolf Lodge which cost like five times as much.
wow! looks like those boys got spoiled for Christmas! (and birthday:) how fun!
cute cute boys!
so much fun...I cant' believe that Nixan is 5. He is so handsome, like all your boys. I love the new picture of your three boys up top....adorable! It turned out so well
He is so handsome and I cannot believe he is 5! I love the brothers at Chuck E Cheese. And I have to tell you that I love the camo pjs and army soldiers! Looks like you guys have been having a great time!
