Reflections Part1:

Where do you start, but at the beginning. It's been a whirlwind month! My (saintly) Mom flew to Dallas to help me drive the 1300+ miles to Perry, UT. We threw caution to the wind and drove it straight (stopping in Albuquerque to buy a case of fire-roasted green chile, nicknamed "Green Gold" by my little bro Kage...and it is just that!). It took us 22 and 1/2 hours. When we (finally!) exited Spanish Fork Canyon, I felt myself start to relax...we'd really make it in one go. But I was not prepared for I-15! With my Mom at the wheel, that road lulled me to sleep. I kept trying to stay awake....it was a losing battle. I don't even remember passing Salt Lake! Where the heck did all the pot-holes on I-15 go? It's never been so smooth sailing!

Anyways, after arriving in UT, it took about a day and a half to recover! I slept in. I'm not sure if my Mom did though. But we did recover... enough to drive back down I-15 to visit the Oquirrh Mountain Temple for the open house. It is a gorgeous temple with many unique features...I'd love to go back again once it is dedicated. The boys loved seeing the inside of the temple...they were impressed with how peaceful and beautiful it was. Except for TJ...I don't think he appreciated all the "shhh-ing" or being forced to follow the tour path. He did, however, LOVE the cookies at the end of the tour!
