Welcoming Home Elder Allen the IV

There are some really great perks living in a big metro like Dallas-Fort Worth. I think my favorite is living so close to the DFW airport. It is definitely one of the major U.S. and international airports--a big hub, located in the central U.S. Gosh, it seems like all domestic flights have a connection in Dallas. And it is this, that has greatly blessed our lives down here in TX. During their lay-overs at the airport, we have been able to visit Chaz, Sara, and Marek, Grandma Allen, and now Uncle Chance...our missionary returning home from Peru and Bolivia. I hate to brag, but we were the very first to see Elder Allen! I know my mom was super jealous. :) Chance and his group of returning missionaries actually had to stay over-night at the airport...I told Chance he could come to my house and sleep...but he didn't want to leave his group. So the boys and I met him for breakfast. It was so fun to see him...skinny as can be (Bolivian diets will do that to you, apparently) but so happy! He just kept smiling. He was so cute to my boys....even having had leather arm bands made for them out of crocodile (or was it alligator?) skins. And wallets too, made from skins. There's nothing more awesome than that for 8 and 6 year old boys. Thanks Chance! And not just for the South American souvenirs...but for your great example to my kids!
I thought I'd pull a picture from the Febuary 2010 archives...here's TJ with Grandma Allen when we got to visit her during her DFW lay-over.

I love seeing these pictures from when Chance came home! I want to see more airport ones. I also was stupid and forgot a camera when I went up to see him! So I'm relying on your family for the pictures they took :) (What kind of girlfriend am I, not taking a camera...girls are supposed to remember details like that!)

Jaime I am not going to lie-your bro is a babe and you can tell him I said so. I bet he would just love to know that a 28 year old mother of two thinks he's dreamy.
