Honor and Pride

Carson was selected to represent his Elementary school at the high school football game. He was honored to meet the high school student government kids, members of the cheerleading and dance teams, the band, and, of course, the football players. He got to wear a special t-shirt to school that Friday. At the game, he, along with other elementary school kids, got to march into the stadium with the band, high-five the football players as they entered the field, and then watch on the sidelines. It was so cool to him! And, at the beginning of the game, they introduced each kid and the school they represented (by name). Carson was the 12th kid in line. As each kid's name was read, they waved to the fans in the stadium. However, when they announced Carson's name, he didn't wave. No. He raised both arms and did some major fist pumping! It was so funny! Where did my shy guy go??? Nick and I could see the pride he felt in that moment. It was pretty cute. But now...how to keep the kid humble...
