Carson's 9th Birthday

Carson's birthday seems to always come right in the thick of soccer season, which is nice because he LOVES playing soccer! It came as no surprise to us that he wanted Chelsea (English Premier Soccer league) gear for his birthday. We were a little sticker-shocked to see how much the authentic Chelsea jersey costs...but we knew he'd love it and he did!!! He asked Nick to "draw" the team's logo on his cake too. I think Nick did a great job!

Because he turned 9, I wish to write 9 things that I just love about Carson:

1-He loves to learn. Probably more than anyone I've ever known. He asks zillions of questions and always wants to know more.

2-He reminds me of things I am supposed to do. "Mom, did you sign my report card? Mom, did you return the library books?"

3-He is a great example to his brothers. And this is good because they really do copy him in almost everything!

4-He listens so well during family scripture study. He remembers everything! Go ahead...ask him about Korihor! :)

5- He still wants me to tuck him in at night andgive him a hug! I'm hoping he never outgrows this, but I'm sure he will. :(

6-He is very brave....he will try anything! Eat squid? Done. He loves it!

7- He is proactive about working on his cub scouting achievements.

8- He does his best at school each day! The principal actually saw me drop him off--on his birthday--and she stopped me to tell me how much she appreciates how kind and respectful Carson is to others. She said she is always so impressed with how he tries to help other kids in the classroom and on the playground. I don't think she knew it was his birthday, but that was the best present she could give! How many principals know a child that well?!

9- He is just so darn handsome!
