Nixan turned 7 this month! We were lucky to have Grandma Allen here to celebrate with our family. We had our own little family party, complete with Nixan's favorite dinner at Panda Express. He was very excited to pick his dinner...he debated over many favorite places, but the Orange Chicken won out. (Funny how kids want to do whatever their parents do...for example, Nick and I like to eat out on our birthdays--no cooking or cleaning, right? Well, somehow our kids now associate birthdays with eating-out. Kind of funny because kids don't normally get so excited about dinner--at least mine don't. But when it's their birthday, they are serious about picking their favorite restaurant....so I guess that's our family tradition, be it inadvertent as it was.)
So Nixan's favorite dinner is Orange Chicken. Other fun facts about Nixan:
His favorite sport is soccer.
Green was always his favorite color...but now it seems like blue is taking over.
Nixan is VERY enthusiastic...on school mornings he is always excited about starting the day...he's cheerful, quite boisterous, and silly.
He has the biggest sweet-tooth in our family and loves fruit snacks.
He is always the first to check on Sage in the morning and at all the comings and goings...heLOVES her so much and it shows!
Nixan has a great memory.
And, he is one creative Lego maniac!
Happy Birthday Nixan, we LOVE you!
Here's the boys in their favorite English Premier League "football" jerseys:

Well, because Sage was only 2wks old on his birthday, we told Nixan that his "friends" party would have to wait. That is the "to be continued" part of this story. We told him that when Sage was older, we'd do his party. So, the other day, I went to schedule the party and found out that the facility we wanted had closed. Major bummer! Now, it looks like Nixan wants to wait till March/April when he can take come friends to an FC Dallas soccer game. So.....all the fun stuff will wait some more!
