Currently, I live my life by the "Courtesy Call." By definition, a courtesy call is a visit or telephone call that is made to a customer in order to be polite. Every day I wake up wondering if I will get such a call. I even took my cell phone to church last Sunday on the chance that I might have gotten a call. It did not happen. But, because I am very much a worrier and planner (a freak) it didn't really matter that I was never called while at church, cause I left the house in perfect showing condition. I found out the next day that, indeed, potential buyers had, in very fact, walked through my house and looked at my closets while we were away at church. (Whew. Dodged a bullet there!) Having not received the courtesy call though, has put me in a rather panicked state of being. What if that should happen again? I have four kids. My house isn't always in showing condition. Ugh. So now I'm constantly checking my email (the most reliable notification method thus far) so that I will know of any scheduled showings. Turns out stalking your own email is not fun. Nor is keeping the house as perfect as possible fun. Actually, we've had a lot of no fun around here lately. No fun getting the house ready to sell. No fun painting. No fun packing. No fun loading a storage unit. And don't ask the kids about how awesome their spring break was...because all they did was work or entertain themselves while I worked. Fun? Nope. Just ask Carson how many hours he had to paint to earn $18 (keep in mind that there is no minimum wage at our house, so I definitely got the better end of that deal).
So yeah. Our house is on the market.
Here's some before and after pictures of a couple of our projects that we did before listing the house:

Where are you going next?
so pretty! I love the last picture...I miss the cuddle moments!! Where are you moving??
YAY...moving on is a celebration of sorts and misery at the same time...I can totally sympathize with all of it! The house looks great though!
Looking good! I totally hear you on showing houses- we did it for nine months and it was torture! Maybe it will help you feel better to know that it will sell when the time is right. When ours sold it was an unannounced showing and we weren't prepared. Can't help but stress over it though, right? Poor thing. I feel for you!
