Carson's school is celebrating Dr. Seuss this week, so of course Wednesday had to be "Wacky!" I had a few ideas for Carson, like wearing his shirt backwards, mismatching his socks, and using globs of gel to spike up his hair. The only problem...when it came time to actually leaving the house, Carson about died!! He had developed some major "second thoughts" with worries of embarassment. I kept telling him how cool he looked and that everyone else would think so too...of course this was of little comfort. But there we stood at the front door...me telling Carson that there was no time to change, the bus would be here any minute...and Carson chewing me out, "Mom...I didn't want to do three wacky things, only one!!" Well, Carson's worries were dissapated in an instant when he saw his friends at the bus stop...all wearing wacky stuff. Its very interesting to see how much my influence over Carson has diminished now that he is in school. "Fitting-in" with his friends is huge. Just 'cause mom thinks something's cool no longer makes it so...unless of course his friends think so too!

This cracks me up! Thank goodness his friends were also "wacky"...now you have clout with him. What a cute kid, I love his missing tooth.
Oh my goodness....Nathan is the same way!!! Amanda could care less...she'll be ONLY wacky person and think it's awesome. Go figure?? What a crack up! Just pray for those good friends! I can't believe how grown up he looks. What a fun time school is!
I love it! I think it is Dr. Suess all over, cause that is all you see here in Utah too! The twins are taking dr. suess books to school next week! crazy how goofy it can get! Carson definatly is the cool one!
What a cutie! Don't you wish you could "freeze" them so they never grow old and care about "fitting in?" And, of course, be able to keep them all to ourselves!
