The very week after school let out...things at our house got busier! So much for a lazy start to summer vacation. We had cub scout day camp (for Carson) and young women's camp (for me) that week. Luckily, Nick was able to arrange his schedule to attend camp one day with Carson...and it happened (as it always does) to be the very day that I had to be at girl's camp all day. Luckily, I have a wonderful friend that watched my younger boys so that I could go to young women's camp and Nick could go to Cub Camp (thanks Barbie!).
Here's Carson doing his leather working:
And BB gun shooting (that's him with the orange bandanna)...He did REALLY good in this event...lots of bull's-eyes. Let's hope that doesn't come from all his practice on the PlayStation...I mean...he doesn't play it that much. He did not, however, do so well at archery. He came home telling me that that was not his talent.
Of course, camp in June in Texas is always hotter than Hades...so they turn the fire hose on the kids to help 'em keep cool:
Nick got in on that action too (you can see the water spray from the hose):
And then Carson got really sick. High fevers for five days. He missed the last three days of camp. :(

Awww, rough luck for Carson and on his first year, too. Poor kid.
