The Rains Came Down and the Floods Came UP!

Last week the Dallas area was hit by the remnants of hurricane Hermine. It rained like crazy! Very much like the hurricanes and tropical storms we dealt with back in Virginia. Here are some pictures of all the flooding. The first one is of our little neighborhood park...only a block or so from our house. The park bordered a small creek, so when the creek flooded the park got swamped. Notice the top of the swing set...you can't even see the swing chains!

There's a greenbelt sidewalk right in the middle of these trees...obviously not visible!

This poor house is in a neighborhood next to ours....so sad...water half-way up the front door:

Wow!! I'm glad your house is okay. Those downpours are amazing!! Soooo fun that you guys went to six flags. I'm jealous!! You are looking so cute Jamie!! I can't even tell that you're pregnant! What's up with that?!?!?

I TOTALLY agree with you on the yucky, yucky lake!! I don't like to go swimming in those either. I'm even a tad freaked out with public pools....just saying. That is so weird about that 7 year old boy. so sad!!

The boys look so cute on their first day of school. They are growing so big! I love little Trey right there in the middle....he is just so dang cute!!

The knife....yep....the knife. That is seriously one cool knife he's got. Derrick wants a knife for his birthday...you thought decided on one for Carson was bad...do we give a knife to an emotionally unstable/special needs child. Bob thinks it's okay...I'm a little leery. They are fun though and it's crazy how much time they will spend whittling. I guess he has just as much access to my kitchen knives as he would to a little whittling knife...hmmm :)

What a crazy flood! Holy cow. I love all your new pictures. As always, the boys look adorable...I mean cool. They look so cool!

Where's your baby? You don't even look pregnant!

A knife. Ah. I have so much to learn. I know nothing about boys.

So happy you made it through safe. I know the feeling of wondering if your house would be next. It was so scary in VA. Sorry you had to go through this!
