January 28th was a special day for our family. Not only was it the day of the pine-wood derby, but more importantly, it was the day of Nixan's baptism. He was very excited....he said, "I've always wanted to be baptized and have my very own scriptures!" Nixan asked Carson to give the talk on baptism and his cousin Jerryck to speak on the Holy Ghost. Both boys did a great job on their talks, both made a point of speaking directly to Nixan, and both bore special testimonies. It was perfect. When it came time to enter the water and Nixan's feet got wet, he looked up with BIG eyes and softly whispered, "It's COLD!" I could see this made him nervous about going under! Nixan was tough though and made it under....with some extra submersion help from Nick (those cute little feet of his tried to pop up, so deeper he went!). Afterwards we asked Nixan to tell us about it and he said the water was much warmer down deep. He said he felt "happy" and "good" and that he knows he made an important covenant. Nixan was grateful to have his cousins, aunt & uncle, home-teachers, and primary teachers there to support him and we are grateful for those fine people too!
