Nixan had been waiting all year for his Kindergarten field trip to the Dallas Aquarium in May. He was super excited to ride on the school bus for the first time...probably more excited about that than actually going to to see the animals. And he expected to have me come along as chaperon. What he didn't know was that being a chaperon is one coveted position. There are always too many parents that want to go...and only two or three get to go. Fortunately, Nixan's teacher reserved a spot for me (there are definitely benefits to volunteering in the classroom!). And, Nick was able to get work off. So he and Treyson followed the buses down and joined our group.
Here are Nick, Nixan, and Trey eating their sack lunches at the park...Trey LOVED eating with the "big kids":
Four bumps on a log...
Not four bumps on a log:
Did you notice Treyson's backpack? Yeah...he HAD to bring it...and wouldn't take it off the entire trip. Backpacks are symbolic don't you know.
