Easter Festivities

Our neighborhood holds an annual egg hunt at the park...this was our first time to go and the kids had a great time with their friends. I think this was the first time they've ever been up close to an Easter Bunny....TJ and Sage were interested, but definitely kept their distance. This picture was snapped when Mr. Bunny snuck up behind them without those two knowing (the little guy in orange is our buddy Calvin).

Here's TJ with his BFF:

Sage was kinda funny....she had no interest in collecting eggs at all. She was just happy to explore the park and watch everyone (especially the man and dog playing fetch).

Nixan:

Carson with his friends:

On Easter we had our close friends we've known since Virginia over (the Richmans and Archibalds) for dinner and Egg Wars. With such beautiful weather, we had the kiddos eat outside. We have 8 boys between us, with one boy in each grade from 4th all the way down to preschoolers.....so there's lots of "boy" fun to be had.

Here we are, prepping for Egg Wars. This is a game that my sister in law, Sara, taught us last Easter. It is suuuuper fun!!!!! Kids and adults can all play...it's just a fun family game. Thanks Sara for teaching us...everyone loved it! (Unlike the name might imply, this is not a messy game...we're not egging each other!)

Julianna challenges her little guy Coleman (Look how much the boys get into it!) In the end, it was Coleman who claimed victory over all!

Here goes Nixan and Drew:

Here's a good shot of our boys standing in order by age....we're missing one. Eli wasn't feeling well. One fun thing though, is that each family now has one girl too....so Sage has some company with babies Allie and Reese.

Then it was on to our backyard egg hunt...

And now for the random photos I've been adding to my posts lately. This time...a picture of our recent experiment. Who wins, between a giant spider and a scorpion?

They look equally matched in size, right? Well....there was some brawling. Some stinging and some biting....at first we thought the scorpion would win....as the spider lost a leg in one of the brawls. However, the spider came back....gnawed on that scorpion tail....and ultimately won the fight. Scorpion was dead by morning. What happened to the spider? Nick killed it. Don't mess with Nick. And don't mess with me either. If you're a fruit fly, that is. 'Cause my traps worked like a charm! A little dish soap, water, and vinegar...thanks mom for the advice!

What a fun Easter. I love all the pictures. I am grossed out by your spider vs scorpion war...you do have too many boys in your house :).
Everyone is getting so big. Seriously, I think Carson is smarter than me now. He is so grown up!

Sounds like lots of fun. I gotta know more about these egg wars. Fill me in next time I see ya, k?...Which will be when? I'm sure Phoenix is getting warm enough for you to take a little trip north once school's out, right?
