Carson completed his fourth grade year with a school play about the great state of Arizona. He was very excited to be assigned a speaking part--he played an Anasazi Native American and told about the Anasazi tribe in Arizona. He did a great job! Nick was able to attend the production with Sage, TJ, and me. We especially loved all the great songs about Arizona! "Arizona...hats off to you!"
Carson knew the songs well....but we could never capture a smile while he sang! Pretty sure that his 4th grade, too cool for school attitude played a role here.
Carson's gifted class celebrated the end of the year with Wacky Olympics...and it was just that!
Treyson got bored spectating, so he made a new friend at the playground. I'm not sure about my TJ....sometimes he is sooooo shy. Other times he's a social maniac! Go figure.
Carson's best friend in ELP class is Gordon. They were lucky to be partners in the Spray-the-shaving cream-off-your-partner's-face-with-a-spraybottle event. This was hilarious! The kids all loved it! Especially getting wet (and cooling off) in the AZ heat.
Carson had a stellar finish to 4th grade, getting all A's for the year. His teacher told me a funny story about Carson. I guess he'd been having a hard time one week with keeping quiet and not talking to his neighbors. After a few reminders from his teacher, he finally went to her and asked, "Can I be an island?" She was a little perplexed until Carson explained to her that he no longer wanted his desk to touch other students' desks...he wanted to be an "island" so that he wouldn't be too tempted to become chatty. Haha! I guess he knows his weaknesses! Ms. Miller was happy to accommodate that request and Carson no longer had trouble keeping quiet.
