It's crazy that Nixan is already done with 2nd grade...it seems like just yesterday I was registering him for kindergarten back in Texas! He had a great year with a really nice teacher. Ms. Day made school fun and sometimes she would play music (from her ipod) on Fridays (if the kids earned it!). I credit her for Nixan's love of pop music. I think he knows more recent billboard hits than I do! A song will come on the radio while we're driving in the car and Nixan will start singing right along...it catches me off-guard every time! I just don't expect my 8 yr old to know the words to songs that I don't even know, haha!
Nixan's end-of-the-year production was called "Going Buggy." It was a cute musical put on by all the second-graders. Each song had a really catchy tune that taught about different types of bugs.
One thing I really liked about our elementary school was the parent involvement. As you can see below, the parents really support their kids....we were extra early to the play and yet we still weren't on the front row.
Treyson and his best buddie, excited to see Nixan:
This picture doesn't do her justice, but here is the favorite teacher, Ms. Day:
